Eastward Ho!

Good news!  While not a ‘done deal’ (so I hope I’m not jinxing it) we appear to have a buyer for our trailer.  He’s going to come back tomorrow morning with a deposit and to sign the rental agreement at the park (yes, he’s moving in, and one of the advantages to our trailer is that it is ‘grandfathered in’ at the park).  I had to drop the price another $400 and throw in our heaters and some furniture but in the end we should have enough money to rent the U-haul, stay in motels on the trip, and even have a small stake once we arrive at our destination.

School is out in one week, buyers of our bunk beds will come on the 14th to take them away and then we’ll move out the last of our things and things to be donated/given away and clean.  We will get the rest of the payment on the 15th and rent the U-haul trailer and pack it up and head out early on the 16th.  Stay tuned for further adventures!

Have you considered having a fundraiser through a site like IndieGoGo.com? I’m having one to raise money for COBRA insurance (my husband just got laid off today, we have to June 30), but I’m right in the middle of Cancer treatments. $1100 a month. More than our rent, electric, phone, and cable combined. People are being generous and kind.

Just thought I’d run that by you. I’d donate to a fundraiser for your family to get back East.

    Good thoughts,

    Julie

      Hi Julie
Thanks for the idea. I’m so sad to hear your news! What a difficult place to be in right now! I hope your treatments go well and your husband finds work! Sorry for the delay in responding I’ve been focused on selling the trailer (haven’t yet) and away from the computer!
