My Favorite Music

for the sad times in my life – songs by Emmylou Harris.  She strikes the right balance between melancholy and a pragmatic view of the situation.  Lately these songs have gotten a lot of play:

Two More Bottles of Wine;

Calling My Children Home;

Can You Hear Me Now;

One of These Days;

The Darkest Hour is Just Before Dawn; and

Sweet Old World

What would we do without music?  It’s like having a good friend who understands what you are going through and offers solace without judgement or advice.

    A year ago I developed a neurological condition that wiped out my internal sound track. I never realized until then that there was ALWAYS music playing in my mind.

    Music is one of the most comforting, inspiring and calming parts of our lives. I am glad you find music to relate to – sometimes someone elses’s expression of sorrow makes ours seem lighter, or at least less lonely.

    And I am grateful to say that I have recovered the soundtrack, although I’m not sure where all the hip-hop came from all of a sudden LOL.

    Praying for you.
