(Another) Small Step

Woo-hoo!  I did it.  I emptied out my bank account and my paypal account, sold our HP printer (we have a still working, older version in storage that I’ll get out for the kids to use for homework), and killed the piggy bank.  Just before closing I took in the money to the after school program and got the kids enrolled for next week!  I think the fellow was appalled when I counted out $9 in dimes and nickels but I just laughed and told him “No worries, we haven’t even begun to dig into the pennies!”

Next week’s payday will still be for the fewer hours and have to cover rent but 3 weeks from today I’ll have money to put into savings!

Fantastic–let’s hope those 30 hours turn out to be wonderful…I can’t wait to hear you announce that you have benefits!

I hope you didn’t have to take a payday loan to be able to do all that. If not that is so exciting that you had just enough.
I pray that your car continues to get you to work and that no other issues come up right now that are unplanned for.

You brave bold woman! Yay! So you allude to it, but don’t directly say–the job is going well, right?

Well, I’m still on tenterhooks about it as I haven’t brought in any new projects. I’ve been able to help with document review and editing and the boss seems to think that marketing is a lot like gardening – lots of prep work and seed sowing and the harvest isn’t immediate. I’m trying to make the most of it. She is also hiring two new people so I think she has a commitment to continuing to grow the firm. I’m thrilled that I’ll be eligible for benefits in a couple weeks!

Woot! Way to go, I love how you make lemonade out of all those lemons life hands you!
